Tommy Gibbs appointed as Head of Corporate Communications

Appointment Corporate Communications

We’re delighted to share the appointment of Tommy Gibbs as Head of Corporate Communications. She joins Speed’s Business & Corporate division, recognised as a top 10 UK B2B PR agency, working alongside Clare Cooper, Director of Business & Corporate.

Tommy will lead and grow the agency’s corporate communications offer, owning a portfolio of accounts across sectors including professional services, financial services and manufacturing. The role combines senior client counsel with new business development, and Tommy will play a central role in strengthening Speed’s corporate communications positioning in the market.

Tommy joins from Cirkle, where she specialised in protecting and promoting the reputations of clients including Carlsberg Britvic, The Magnum Ice Cream Company, AkzoNobel, Noble Foods and Royal Canin. She brings extensive experience managing large-scale crises, from cyber security breaches and corporate restructuring to industrial action and product recalls. Her work has included counselling clients during de-mergers, managing acquisition announcements, supporting executives with positioning and profiling and overseeing multi-stakeholder campaigns spanning diverse audience groups. She has previously worked at Lexis (now Archetype), Grayling and Freuds.

Reflecting on her appointment, Tommy said: “Reputation isn’t just built in the good times, it’s earned in how you handle the hard ones. That’s always been the part of this work I find most interesting – sitting with a client through a crisis and coming out the other side with something stronger than what they had before. Speed has a reputation for doing that well and for backing its people to be bold, straight-talking consultants who have earnt the trust of their clients. I’m looking forward to building on that with Clare and the team.”

Clare Cooper, Director of Business & Corporate added: “Tommy is a very sharp reputation strategist and she’s spent her career proving it under pressure, when it counts most. As we grow our position as one of the UK’s leading B2B PR agencies, she’s exactly the kind of thinker we need alongside us. We have ambitious plans for the Business & Corporate team over the next 12 months, and Tommy will play a central role in delivering them.”

At Speed we continue to grow our client portfolio across both consumer and B2B, with a number of new business wins over the past 12 months, including Beko, eCapital and Hyosung. The agency was named 2026 Large Consultancy of the Year in the South West by the PRCA.
