Which generation is most interested in an apprenticeship? According to new research from the Association of Accounting Technicians (AAT), it’s millennials looking for a career change. Two in three job seekers aged 35-44 have considered earning while they learn to reskill.
The good news for AAT is that entrepreneurial Gen-Z is most likely to have considered an apprenticeship to upskill for a career in finance, with over half of jobseekers aged 16-24.
“People with an appetite to learn new skills are key to addressing vacancies in the UK’s most in demand occupations” says Sarah Beale, CEO of AAT, one of the country’s leading awarding organisations for finance skills. “In occupations like finance, where skilled workers to fill senior roles are in short supply, apprenticeships offer clear routes of progression from any level of experience all the way to the top.”
